Wow! What a treat at the Children's book fair at the convention center across the street from Recoleta, next to the Bellas Artes museum, and Tony's law school! Ivan and Konstantin talked and asked questions of charming Carlos the dinosaur book author and paleontologist. Yes, Ivan and Carlos discussed where the most and largest dinosaurs were found. Konstantin enjoyed the stuffed replicas Carlos had on display. Carlos inscribed the "Dinosaurios de Gondwana" book to the boys. "Can you tell me what countries make up Gosdwana?" I'll have to have Konstantin and Ivan check you for accuracy as I can not completely remember even though the boys explained it to me twice on the #67 bus ride home ;-).
Konstantin knows so many of the dinosaurs and all the facts about their size, predators, what they ate (or which other dinosaurs), gestation, period of course, and survival weaknesses. Not only do they read every book about dinosaurs they find-in, and Spanish now, they are also playing Dinosaur King and their are so many power hierarchy rules that it's amazing what detail they learn. Konstantin can recoginize Dinosaurs that I can only repeat the first couple syllables of just by seeing a snout or a part of their face...and we're not talking your standard T-Rex but dinos like Thrinaxodon Liorhinus.
The kids got some really nice thick cotton T-shirts, adventure caps, and a dinosaur family tree poster. And Carlos threw in a few more posters and pins as gifts in honor of friends day; you can see some in the window case. Carlos really took time to share his stories and how he organized his books. Kids really listened and chatted until we were the last ones out of the whole building.
