It was great timing to be able to experience the Argentina Arts fair at the local convention center, Le Rural. There were exhibits and craftspeople from all of Argentina's regions. It was like one big whirlwind trip around the country to learn about the geography, raw materials, arts and culture. The artisans were very special and we got a chance to talk to ask a lot of questions and get to know a few. Really makes you want to stay in Buenos Aires even longer and to be sure to get the out into the provinces and nature.
My favorite artisan's were the charming couple, Ibel and Fernando, of
artesaniascontraveta.blogspot.com. Check out their site. I couldn't resist getting the most beautiful ceramic sugar bowl with a lovely patterned woodwork lid and a funny hand shaped wooden scoop. I also got some stylish hand made wooden buttons - remind me to mail them to you Marta!
