Lovely Afternoon in Palermo Park

On Saturday we looked forward to and enjoyed sleeping in.  We made eggs and pancakes, a nice hearty brunch.  Breakfast here is about a couple of croissants or "media lunas" and coffee or juice.  We were ready for a big hearty ski breakfast to laze around in the morning and talk and play games.   In the afternoon, Ivan and Konstantin couldn't wait to play soccer.  We played a little in the courtyard but it echoed too much so we set off in search of a park we'd heard a lot about that was relatively nearby.  We explored from Palermo Hollywood crossing Santa Fe into Canitas which is a mini very hip SOHO type place then past the polo field which we tried to get in since it had a huge field and stadium stairs just waiting to be explored--but the high wrought iron fence full of bird doo encouraged us to continue following our torn 1/2 map to find the park.  When we found it a couple more blocks away and a major street crossing with no light--it was well worth it.

Very Central Park like park.  And while looking for a bio break we found the most enjoyable "Plastics Museum."  Ivan and Konstantin thought it was so funny they would make a museum for plastic art.  Ivan even found that the improvised soap dispenser (cap is pierced) was actually very hip and in support of the museum's theme...see for yourself: We enjoyed some wonderful pies at a very welcoming museum cafe. 

We had two older couples strike up a conversation with us and were very excited we chose their country to study Spanish in!  And of course thought the boys were "so cute."  Ivan is tired of hearing that.  Long story-made short.  Ivan heard it so often when he was just learning how to talk that one day when someone asked him how he was?  He answered "I'm so cute."  I'm going to get in trouble for sharing that story. And lastly, we made it to Shrek, can you tell?  Kids were already too cool to wear their ears.
